Ronan Murray recently presented Iorras Aontaithe with his very first Ireland International Jersey which he wore against France on the 26th September 2006 in Saint Brieuc, a game that ended 1 all. He made the presentation to Youth Secretary and coach, Eric Reilly on a recent break from his involvement with Ipswich Town. Iorras Aontaithe would like to thank Ronan and the Murray Family for this very nice presentation.

The great old days at Carne Airstrip are recalled in this 2 minute 50 second clip with goals from Harry Reilly and Brendan Henry against Ballyglass in the league about 1995. Watch out for a great goal by Brendan Henry latching on to a lobbing pass from Paul Reilly on the half way line. Watch out also for the team run down by Noel McNulty who happened to be out injured at the time and had to contend with doing the line. This film clip is also on the clubs Youtube page.

Jonathan Donahue is included in a 20  strong Connaught panel which will be taking part, this weekend the 24th/26th October, in the F.A.I. under 17 inter provincial tournament in Dublin. Jonathan has been in outstanding form this season, both in the Super league and for the B side and his selection is deserved.

Iorras Aontaithe have been drawn at home to Strand Celtic in the Connught Cup third round which will be played on the weekend of the 29th/30th November.

Iorras Aontaithe have been drawn away to Super League opponents, Snogboro in the 3 round of the F.A.I. junior cup which will be played on the weekend of the 1st and 2nd November, and all going well, they will have a home draw in the 4th round.

Congratulations to Ronan Murray of Ipswich Town F.C. on been called into the Republic of Ireland U18 panel for a series of games in France between the 26th October and the 3rd November. This is another proud moment and a big step up for Ronan in his career path in to professional football and he is wished continuing success from his family in Glencastle and his home club, Iorras Aontaithe. Joining Ronan will be his Club team mate at Ipswich, David Cawley from Ballina.

Iorras Aontaithe dumped Super League opponents, Ballyheane out of the F.A.I. Junior Cup Round 2 at home on Sunday 12th October. Player-Manager, Eric Reilly returned from injury to score two goals in the first half, one from play and the other from the penalty spot to leave it 2 nil going into the break. In the second half two further goals from Anthony Mills and Garth O’Malley made the visitors day pretty miserable. It was also good to see Brendan Nallen make a welcomed return after his recent ankle injury. The game ended 4-0.

Iorras Aontaithe (B) are Division one champions after drawing away to Achill Rovers on Sunday 28th September on a score line of 2 all. All the goals coming in the second half. Shane Nallen headed the ball home on 57 minutes from a well taken Micky T. cross and a penalty on 87 minutes by Jimmy Tighe. Poor defending by Iorras allowed Achill score on 75 and 89 minutes. Iorras could have netted more but for the excellent efforts of the Achill keeper. It has been a great two seasons for Manager, Micheal S. Togher and his panel. Click on post match, manager comment.

Iorras Aontaithe had to settle for a point away to Castilbar Celtic, to round off their league season, on Saturday evening the 20th September in an outstanding Super League fixture.The Iorras goals came from Anthony Mills (3) and (1) from Mark Reilly, a spectacular 30 yard pile driver. Anthony Mills third goal was well taken from the edge of the area. They finish their Super League season on 25 points lets hope they improve on this next season. There next game is at home to Ballyheane in the F.A.I. Junior Cup second round on the 12th October.
