Iorras Aontaithe (B) are at home to Manulla (B) on Saturday 20th ko 7.00pm- Result– 5-1 win for Iorras (B) with goals from Colin Stewart (2) and one each from Tom Gruddy, Jimmy Tighe and Garth O’Malley. It was 4-nil at half time with Manulla (B) getting a penalty in the second half and Garth grabbing the fifth in the closing minutes. Very good display.
Iorras Aontaithe (A) are at home to S & F United on Sunday 21st in the Super league K0 at 2.00pm. Result– Iorras drew 1-1 with both goals coming in the second half, Henry Gaughan on 54 minutes with a fine individual effort from the edge of the area but poor defending gifted S.&F. a share of the points on 65 minutes through Adam Clarke. Iorras hit the cross bar twice with efforts from Micky Togher and Colin Stewart in the closing stages.

MIXED FORTUNES FOR IORRAS, HOME AND AWAY
It was a case of mixed fortunes for Iorras Aontaithe, with league form, on Thursday evening 18th June. Iorras (B) were at home to Westport (B) and secured the three points with two penalties by Jimmy Tighe, unfortunately for veteran striker, Harry Reilly he had to leave the field of play after been at the rough end of a heavy tackle. Meanwhile, Iorras Aontaithe (A) were dropping points away to Manulla in the Super League, on a score line of 2-1.

IORRAS WELCOMES BOHEMIANS F.C.
On next Friday 26th June the Community of Erris and C. S. Iorrais Aontaithe/Erris United F.C. welcome reigning league of Ireland Champions and F.A.I. Cup holders, Bohemians F.C. Manager, Pat Fenlon and his Championship winning side will take on Iorras Aontaithe at 7.00pm that evening to celebrate the Clubs 25th anniversary. Bohemians will have on display the League and F.A.I Cups. It promises to be a great occasion because it well be the very first time a league of Ireland club has visited the Erris Community and it is fitting that it is Ireland’s top Club.
There will be parking restrictions at Carne Nash Park for this game.

25th CELEBRATIONS.
Iorras Aontaithe/Erris United held their 25th Anniversary Dinner Dance, awards night and anniversary book launch in the Broadhaven Bay Hotel on Saturday 13th June and it was a great night. The M.C. was, Committee member and club youth coach, Des O’Connor who had the crowd riveted to their seats with his performance. The club also launched their 25th anniversary book, it is a very good read and you can buy a copy in Carey’s Newsagents, Micheal John Nallan’s and Brogan’s Eurospar in Belmullet or the Club Chairman priced at 15 EURO. Earlier that day the club held a FAI coaching session and U10 blitzes at the club ground which ended with brief ceremony and Blessing to mark the opening of Care Nash Park by Pat Quigley, Chairman of the Mayo League and Club President, Fr. Kevin Hegarty followed by a game between the F.A.I. U18’s of 04 and a golden oldie selection. On the night the club honoured the founders of the club. 25TH ANNIVERSARY DINNER DANCE AND BOOK LAUNCH
On Saturday 13th June Iorras Aontaithe/Erris United will have a day of celebration to commemorate the Clubs 25th anniversary. On the Saturday, at the Club ground, their will be a F.A.I. couching session and U10 Blitz from 2 to 4.00pm followed at 4.15pm with a brief ceremony to mark the opening of Carenash Park followed by a Short game between the F.A.I. u18 Youth Cup winners and a mix of the past and present senior side. Later that evening the Club will have its celebratory Dinner Dance in the Broadhaven Bay Hotel starting at 7.30pm sharp with guest speaker the C.E.O. of the F.A.I., John Delaney. Also on that night the Club will be launching its 25th anniversary book which highlights the Clubs 25 year history to date. It traces the club from the sandy banks of Doohoma to the floodlights of Carne Nash. It contains first hand accounts of all the key events in the Club’s history, including the formation of the club, cup wins, youth football and pitch development. Many members, players and supporters have contributed to make this a detailed humorous account of the club’s history. Featuring exclusive photographs, it documents the rise of one of the most progressive soccer club’s in Ireland.

“WHAT A LOAD OF BALLS”
It was a case of “what a load of balls” when local Belmullet butcher, Kevin Garvey presented the club with footballs for the coming Super League season. Kevin s butcher shop is located at American street, called “Bia Iorrais”. Iorras Aontaithe would like to thank Kevin for this welcomed sponsorship and continuing support.

“TWO GOAL CAROLAN NOT ENOUGH”
Two great goals by Stephen Carolan was not enough to see Iorras Aontaithe past the preliminary stage in the second round of the F.A.I. Ford Senior Cup at wind swiped Carnenash Park on Sunday 24th May. Iorras played with the strong breeze in the first half and where the first to score on 33 minutes when Stephen Carolan hit home from close range. But 6 minutes later the visitors levelled from a corner to leave the match 1-1 at the break. In the second half Iorras regained the lead 15 minutes into the game when Stephan Carolan got down low to head home from a Garth O’ Malley cross. But 5 minutes later Cherry Orchard made use of the strong breeze when they were awarded a free from.35 yards and Iorras Keeper, Shane Nallan was caught off guard when the free was taken quickly and it went into the goal to make it 1-2. Iorras worked very heard against the strong wind to level the game but Cherry Orchard scored two more goals to clinch the game. Iorras played while, despite the score line, with the referee making some strange decisions during the game. (Three match officials 240 Euro)
After the excitement of national cup football, over the past number of months, its back to Super League action for Iorras Aontaithe.
