The annual Club Duck race was held on the evening of the 18th and it was certainly one to remember, with a large number of ducks making a dash for freedom over the boom, faster then a group of turkey’s running from christmas.
Freedom at last.
The results are: 1st Leanne Harraghy, (Stephens Girl), Bangor (500 Euro). 2nd (100 Euro) Peter Keane, Toorglass. 3rd (100 Euro) Cassie Gaughan, Tipp. 4th (50 Euro) Linda Hefferon, Tipp. The last duck home was for Padraig Dixon, Ardmore (50 Euro).

During the day, Heritage Day, The club had its stand in operation manned by Club members, and many thanks to everyone for their support in the fundraising efforts.

A special thank you to all the boys who went in the water. Dangerous work and much appreciated. Good news is you won’t be needed next year as Thomas Reilly in conjunction with SELC are working on a giant Duck Hoover. Coming soon to a Dragon’s Den near you.
