Iorras Aontaithe (B) grabbed all three points in a trilling encounter at home to local rivals, Bangor Hib’s in Premier (B) on Thursday evening the 18th: final score, Iorras (B) 4 Bangor 3.
At half time the home side were two goals up, thanks to Gareth O’Malley and Captain Vinnie McGrath. But Bangor made a number of changes at half time, with the result, they were back level ten minutes into the half. Then Iorras (B) were back in front again on 62 minutes after some good build-up play from the inspiring, Vinnie McGrath and the veteran, Gareth O’Malley, with Tom McAndrew scoring with a great effort, to make it 3-2. Then, that great man himself, Eric O’Reilly entered the fray and on 82 minutes scored with a delightful header from a Gareth O’Malley cross. Bangor scored again just before full time, plus they clipped the cross bar, but by then the home side had done enough to secure all three points.
