Category: UncategorizedThomas @ 6:57 pm

Erris United/Iorras Aontaithe progressed to the fifth round of the Connaught Cup away to Galway City side, O.L.B.C. on Sunday 20th going through 5-4 on penalty’s after the game ended 1-1.   The first half produced no goals, but 13 minutes into the second half Ivan Barrett had Iorras in front with an excellent effort. The home side continued the pressure on the visitors and ten minutes before full time, they equalized. Extra time failed to break the died-lock and penalty’s was called for.   The  spot kick heroes were, Garth O’Malley, Ivan Barrett, Micky Togher, David Reilly and Henry Gaughan, and not forgetting Enda Conroy, the Erris Keeper, getting down well to save the home side 4th penalty effort. The Manager, Michael S. Togher was very happy in how his Team preformed against a good Galway side. Well done everyone and good luck in the next round. (Michael S. and his band will travel to Ballinasloe Town, in the next round for their next gig)
