Iorras Aontaithe U16 defied the cold and ice and made the long journey to Carrick-on-Shannon in Co. Leitrim to take on local side, Carrick United on Saturday 28th in the Connaught Shield and their trip was note in vain, progressing to the Quarter final, 4-5 after extra time thanks to goals from Paul Barrett , Sean mcDonnell,Eoin o Donoghue,Gary Boylan and Tommy Conroy. The win was secured, despite having two players red carded in extra time. They will be on the road again in February away to either Manorhamilton or Renmore.
