Any thoughts that Fahy Rovers had on taking points from Iorras at Carne Nash Park were quickly dispelled with a faultless display by the home side, with the visitors going down 3-0 on Saturday evening 15th. This win puts Iorras on top of the Super League, a point ahead of Ballina United who drew with Westport United.
Iorras Aontaithe were in front on 40 minutes when Fahy gave away a free on the edge of their area and Shane Nallen converted with competent ease. Three minutes later Iorras were awarded a penalty, but Henry Gaughan’s effort was palmed away by the Fahy keeper with Anthony Mills, follow up effort clipping the cross bar. It remained 1 nil at the break. Then on 65 minutes into the second half, Colin Stewart made it 2 nil, after some great work by Pat Barrett and on 71 minutes Micky Togher made 3-0 with a text book free kick just outside the area. This was another fine display by Iorras full of commitment and focus.
