GREAT FIGHT BACK BY IORRAS.

Category: UncategorizedThomas @ 10:56 pm

Iorras Aontaithe recovered well to take all three points in their home tie against Swinford in the Super League on Sunday May 2nd winning 4-2 in the end.

Jose Togher, has he got a cunning plan????????????????

Iorras were 1-nil up after two minutes when Ivan Barrett scored but the visitors were back on level terms on 14 minutes when they won a penalty, and if that was bad enough, Swinford were awarded a second two minutes later to make it 1-2. Iorras missed a great opportunity to bring it back to 2-2 when Ivan Barrett clipped the cross bar after great work be Micky Togher.  But as the half wore on Iorras slowly began to take control of the game, through Henry Gaughan, Anthony Mills, Micky Togher and it remained 1-2 at half time.

Ivan Barrett scored two, missed one

When play resumed Iorras continued their recovery and on 65 minutes Iorras were awarded a free on the edge of the area and Brendan Nallan levelled the game with his effort. Then Iorras introduced Pat Barrett, Michael Meenaghan and Padraig Doherty and moved Brendan Nallan out on the wing which had a great effect. Then Ivan Barrett grabbed his second goal which gave Iorras the lead on 73 minutes and Brendan Nallan making it 4-2 before full time. This was another good performance by Iorras. Next up, they are away to Manulla on Sunday 9th, it’s not getting easy.

Brendan Nallan, great free kick.
