LOCAL DERBY ENDS IN STALEMATE

Iorras Aontaithe (B) had to contend with a share of the points at home to local rivals, Kilmore United in the Primer Division on Sunday 18th April. Patrick Gilbert had the visitors in front on the 27th minute with a great shot from the edge of the area giving Harry Reilly know chance in the Iorras goal.

Kilmore had most of the position in the opening half, and it remained 0-1 at the break. In the second half Iorras were a different proposition, imposing themselves more on the game with great running from Stephen Cawley, Seamus O’Malley, Brendan McIntyre and Patrick Geoghegan, playing against he former club. But on the 76th minute Iorras were awarded a free, just outside the area on the life, and Tom Andrew’s great effort levelled proceeding. Iorras were unlucky not to have been awarded a penalty, when Seamus O’Malley was foiled inside the box. New Manager, Paul Reilly was happy with the way the side played in the second half. Final score Iorras Aontaithe 1 Kilmore United 1.
