WILD BUNCH CONTINUE WINNING FORM

Iorras Aontaithe/Erris United over 35 continued their winning form on Wednesday 25th in the Masters League bringing to an end Swinfords winning run on a score line of 3-0. The saddle sore cowboys were in top form on the night and were 2-nil up at half time with two great goals from Kenneth Lynskey and Gerry Lavelle. In the second half Iorras continued their relentless drive and pace with Vincent McGrath adding a third. This was another great display, the past masters, have not lost their hunger for the game. WET AND WILD FOR IORRAS IN THIRD ROUND OF FAI JUNIOR CUP

At a wind and rain swiped Kilmore Community Ground, Iorras Aontaithe/Erris United went head to head against newly crowned Division one champions, Ballyglass in the third round of the F.A.I junior Cup, the game was switched from Carnenash park due to surface water at the last minute. As predicted the wind was a force 8-9  with heavy rain at times with Iorras playing against the wind in the opening half. At half time it was 2-0 to Iorras with goals from Garth O’ Malley (2 minutes) and Ivan Barrett (41 minutes). In the second half assisted by that very strong wind, Iorras scored three more goals from Ivan Barrett (55 minutes) and Shane Nallan on (65 and 80 minutes), one of these from a free. Iorras will be at home in the forth round against Manulla on the 6th December. Player-Manager, Eric O’Reilly was, again, very happy with the way the team preformed given the very windy and wet  weather conditions in which the game was played. Final score Iorras Aontaithe 5 Ballyglass 0. Will done to everyone. Many thanks to Kilmore for facilitating this game at the last minute.

IT’S HIGH NOON IN ROUND 3, F.A.I. JUNIOR CUP, THIS SUNDAY

This Sunday the 22nd November has Iorras Aontaithe/Erris United up against Ballyglass in the third round of the F.A.I Junior cup at Carnenash Park.  This clash represents a test for the new Division one champions,  Ballyglass, and all that’s needed now is a gale force 9 and hale-stone showers to add to the mix. Kick-Off is at 12 noon.

AWAY WIN TO ROUND OFF LEAGUE SEASON.

Iorras Aontaithe/Erris United rounded off their Super League season with an  away win to a strong Westport United side on Sunday 15th. The first half ended nil-nil but in the second half Iorras turned on the style with goals from Anthony Mills (1) and Brendan Nallan (2) with the final score reading 0-3. Player-Manager, Eric O’Reilly was very happy with way the side preformed. Iorras Aontaithe are in second place in the table with Westport having a game in hand in third. Will done to everyone.

SADDLE SORE COWBOYS COME FROM BEHIND TO SALVAGE POINT.

The saddle sore cowboys of Iorras Aontaithe over 35 had to come from behind to salvage a point in their game against Ballyvary Blue Bomber’s (B) in the Masters League in Milebush on Wednesday night 11th. They were 4-0 down at half time. Gerry Lavelle started the come back with the first goal then Vincent McGrath scored the second with Martin Boylan adding a third with the final goal coming from Michael John Nallan, almost on full time, scoring with a downward header after tripping on his boot laces, much to the delight of his team mattes. The Manager, Michael S. Togher attributed the spirited come back to  watching the move, Vanishing Point, recently.

FIRST 3 POINTS FOR THE WILD BUNCH

Iorras Aontaithe over 35, or the Wild Bunch, picked up their first 3 points in the over 35 master league at Milebush on Wednesday night 4th November against Ballyheane, score line, 4-2 with goals from Martin Boylen (2) and one each from Michael John Nallan and Tom Gruddy. Tom Gruddy is making a habit of scoring every Wednesday night having scored in the sides defeat to Glenisland United in their last outing. Manager, Michael S. Togher was pleased with their first win, saying, he is waiting for some old saddle sore cowboys to get back in the side, dust down their Stetsons, oil up their spurs and load up their Winchesters for the games ahead.

IORRAS IN FORM.

With both the Super league and the premier Division drawing to a  conclusion,  Iorras Aontaithe A and B were away from home  and continuing to consolidate their positions in the top half of their divisions.  The (A) side were away to Fahy Rover and this game was played on the astro turf in Milebush, Iorras winning 1-3 with goals from Micky Togher (4 minutes), and  one each from substitutes, Chris Barrett (65 minutes) and Eamon McAndrew (80 minutes). The (A) team are  away to Westport in their final game on Sunday 15th November with ko at 2.30pm, Overall, this was a very good performance

The (B) side were away to Manulla (B) and came away with a 2-3 score line with goals from Tom Gruddy, Tom McAndrew and Michael John Flannery. The (B) side has one game left. Manager, Michael S. Togher was happy with the sides efforts and their final game is away to Ballinrobe Town on the Sunday 15th with ko at 12.00 noon.   Will done to everyone.
