Erris United Football Cub

The annual club fundraising Duck Race was held on Sunday 17th, and is sponsored by Lundy Meats, it was a very successful event again this year. The club would like to thank everyone who made the annual event a success and helped with the staging of the race. The results were as follows Duck 1/ Breege McGrath, Inver. Duck 2/ Anthony Mills, Barrick Street, Belmullet.  Duck3/ Caroline Cattigan, Elly. Duck 4/ Clare Hefferon, Muing, Belmullet. Duck 5/ Ann Marie Gaughan. Erris United would like congratulate all the prize winners.

The clubs fundraising duck race, sponsored by Lundie Meats will be held on Sunday 17th at 6.00pm starting at the bridge and sponsorship cards can be had on the Erris United stand on Main Street on La an logha or from any club member.

Erris United U11 side beat Conn Rangers 4-1 on Wednesday evening the 13th August with two goals each from Dylan Dixon and Sean Brogan, the U12 side won away to Kiltimagh Utd by one goal on Friday 8th, The U16 side lost 3-1 to Kilmurrey on Monday evening 11th, the U14 side lost 4-3 to Bangor Hib’s on Friday 8th. Erris United return to the playing field after the mid season break this weekend the 16th and 17th August. The Super League side are at home to Ballyheane with a 12.30pm ko in a game that they most win. But before that on Saturday evening the 16th the Erris United B side are at home to Partry Athletic in Division one, after losing form of late, they also, will be looking for three points and maintain their position at the top of the division.

The clubs U12 side were away to Westport United in the league on Friday evening the 1st August winning on a score line of 4-0 with goals from Kyle Reilly (2), Owen O’Donoghue (1) and one from Owen Healy. Kyle was unlucky not to have scored a third from the penalty spot but his kick was saved. This win puts them in second place in the table. Well done to all.

Iorras FM 106.8 takes to the airwaves on Tuesday August 5^th and will run until September 3^rd. Monday to Saturday from 11am. Iorras Aontaithe will have their own half hour programme each week the show will be hosted by Des O Connor the show will feature interviews with club members past and present plus music and more.

The ever popular Lundy Meats sponsored duck race will take place on Sunday August the 17th at 6.00pm. Sponsorship cards are available from club members and they will also be on the club stand on the 15th August in Belmullet.
