LAUGHING ALL THE WAY TO THREE POINTS.

Category: UncategorizedThomas @ 11:29 pm

Iorras Aontaithe (B) grabbed all three points in a trilling encounter at home to local rivals, Bangor Hib’s in Premier (B) on Thursday evening the 18th: final score, Iorras (B) 4 Bangor 3.

Gareth O'Malley, laughing all the way to three points.

At half time the home side were two goals up, thanks to  Gareth O’Malley and Captain Vinnie McGrath.

Vinnie McGrath, inspiring performance from the Captain fantastic.

But Bangor made a number of changes at half time, with the result, they were back level ten minutes into the half. Then Iorras (B) were back in front again on 62 minutes after some good build-up play from the inspiring, Vinnie McGrath and the veteran, Gareth O’Malley, with Tom McAndrew scoring with a great effort, to make it 3-2. Then, that great man himself, Eric O’Reilly entered the fray and on 82 minutes scored with a delightful header from a Gareth O’Malley cross. Bangor scored again just before full time, plus they clipped the cross bar, but by then the home side had done enough to secure all three points.

BULLYING

Category: UncategorizedThomas @ 12:48 pm

The risk of bullying and harassment by adults or children should be anticipated by taking active steps to prevent it occurring. A prompt and decisive response should be made to any indications that it is taking place.

WHAT IS BULLYING?

Bullying is repeated aggression be it verbal, psychological or physical, which is conducted by an individual or group against others. It is behaviour, which is intentionally aggravating and intimidating and occurs mainly among children in social environments such as schools, sports clubs and other organisations working with children. It includes behaviour such as teasing, taunting, threatening, hitting or extortion by one or more children against a victim. It is the responsibility of participants to deal with bullying that may take place in the Club/Organisation. Each Club/Organisation should have a clear policy on bullying which is known to members and implemented by Coaches/Managers/Committee. Incidents of bullying should be dealt with immediately and not tolerated under any circumstances.

Many Children are reluctant to tell adults that they are being bullied. Older children are even more reluctant. this underlines the need for constant vigilance and encouragement to report bullying.

Iorras Aontaithe were a team of two half’s in their home tie against Ballinrobe Town on Saturday evening the 6th August in the Super League, final score, Iorras 4 Ballinrobe 3.

Erris United, good second half. (Missing from Team shot is David Reilly, who was powdering his noise )

The visitors, Ballinrobe Town, who are now relegated after this result, came to Carne Nash Park with a large panel. They had Iorras on the back foot for all of the first half and on 36th minutes  Enda Reilly slotted home their opening goal from a free on the edge of the area.

The Iorras back four where finding things difficult with Ritchie Dalton and J.P. O’Gorman coming close. Brendan Nallan and Mark Gilbert came close for Erris on 23 and 26 minutes but the visitors  were 1 up at the break. But two minutes into the second half Ritchie Dalton pounced on a goal keeping error to make it 2-0 to Ballinrobe. Jonathan Donahue started the Iorras come back two minutes when he pulled one back for Erris after some good build-up play and a Micky Togher pass.

Mark Gilbert, brave finish.

Then six minutes later Mark Gilbert equalised for Iorras with a brave effort with, again Micky Togher the provider. Jonathan Donahue was, again on the mark, to give Iorras the lead with a good finish two minute later with, again, Micky Togher at the heart of the build-up.

Eric O'Reilly, the grand master.

The visitors were gifted the equaliser 84 minutes from og, and  with the clock ticking down, substitute, Eric O’Reilly scored with a quick turn of foot in the area, after the first effort from Brendan Nallan had clipped the cross bar,  to rescue all three points for Iorras.
