Iorras Aontaithe were a team of two half’s in their home tie against Ballinrobe Town on Saturday evening the 6th August in the Super League, final score, Iorras 4 Ballinrobe 3.Erris United, good second half. (Missing from Team shot is David Reilly, who was powdering his noise )
The visitors, Ballinrobe Town, who are now relegated after this result, came to Carne Nash Park with a large panel. They had Iorras on the back foot for all of the first half and on 36th minutes Enda Reilly slotted home their opening goal from a free on the edge of the area.
The Iorras back four where finding things difficult with Ritchie Dalton and J.P. O’Gorman coming close. Brendan Nallan and Mark Gilbert came close for Erris on 23 and 26 minutes but the visitors were 1 up at the break. But two minutes into the second half Ritchie Dalton pounced on a goal keeping error to make it 2-0 to Ballinrobe. Jonathan Donahue started the Iorras come back two minutes when he pulled one back for Erris after some good build-up play and a Micky Togher pass.

Then six minutes later Mark Gilbert equalised for Iorras with a brave effort with, again Micky Togher the provider. Jonathan Donahue was, again on the mark, to give Iorras the lead with a good finish two minute later with, again, Micky Togher at the heart of the build-up.

The visitors were gifted the equaliser 84 minutes from og, and with the clock ticking down, substitute, Eric O’Reilly scored with a quick turn of foot in the area, after the first effort from Brendan Nallan had clipped the cross bar, to rescue all three points for Iorras.

During the second half both sides had players red carded with, even the advertising hoarding feeling the brunt of the visitors frustration when a Ballinrobe player lashed out resulting in it been damaged. Iorras Aontaithe are away to table toppers, Castlebar Celtic in the their next league out on the 28th of August. But in the mean time, Erris have the FCS Cup final to look forward to against Westport United in Milebush on Saturday 21st August.
