Erris slumped to their first league defeat at home to Westport United (B) on Saturday evening the 5th, final score 1-4.
Erris went behind on 21 minutes from a Dylan Duane effort just inside the area but right from kick-off Dylan Walker levelled for Erris with nice finish. Then Westport added two more before the break from Joe Grady on 24 minutes and Dylan Duane with his second on 30 minutes.
When play resumed Erris continued to push for their second with Ryan Ruddy, Jason O’Donnell & Dylan Walker making the most of the goal chances that came their way.
But Erris found themselves a man down midway through the half when Kyle O’Reilly picked up his second yellow and with the rain cascading down, Westport added their fourth from a goalkeeping error on 89 minutes from substitute Mark McNally.
Erris can reflect on a good second half showing, despite the score line.
