Erris United progressed to the forth round of the Connaught cup at home to Ballyglass in this third round encounter on Sunday 18th with Jason Boylan scoring a first half hat-trick on a 5-3 final score-line. Iorras were totally dominant in the opening half with Brendan Nallan putting Iorras in front on 3 minutes with a well taken free from out-side the area. Jason Boylan made it 2-0 on 6minutes slotting home with a neat finish from the edge of the box , Sean Gaughan the provider. The on 30 minutes Boylan scored his second after the Ballyglass Keeper failed to hold on to a Brendan Nallan free.
Five minutes later Jason Boylan scored his third with a good finish despite the close attentions of two defenders.
In the second half Ballyglass pulled one back on 63 minutes with a Alan McHugh header from close range. But Jason Boylan was on the score sheet again two minutes later after latching on to a Gareth O’Malley pass. Ballyglass scored two further goals on 84 minutes by Danny Mahan and Alan Plunkett in injury time.
Iorras Manager Martin McIntyre was very happy with the out come.
