U8s AND U11s BACK IN ACTION.

Iorras Aontaithe u8s and u11s kick off their football season this Friday, March 30th, the u8s ko at 4pm till 5pm and u11s ko at 5pm to 6pm,all players recieve free club crested shorts and socks and this year, all players under the age of 10 recieve a new club crested training kit,looking forward to season ahead.

ALL SQUARE FOR IORRAS

It was all square for Iorras Aontaithe U17 in their home league clash with Castlebar Celtic on a wet St. Patrick’s day in Carne Nash Park with both sides sharing the points in a pulsating encounter, final score, Iorras 2 Celtic 2. The visitors, with a few Internationals in their ranks, found Erris tougher then expected. It was 1-1 at the end of the opening half thanks to a Tom Ivan goal. Shortly into the second half Celtic went in front from the penalty spot, but Erris were soon back level when Gary Boylan slotted home with 20 minutes to go. The Manager, Michael S. Togher was delighted with the way the side preformed in the very wet conditions. Well done everyone and keep up the good form.

CARETAKER MANAGEMENT TEAM ANNOUNCED

Iorras Aontaithe has announced that a caretaker Management team will take charge of the Super League panel for the 2012 season.

The team will be headed by David Reilly and Brendan Nallen and number of senior squad players and others. The caretaker Management team are replacing Michael S. Togher who stepped down recently to concentrate on Youth Management.

Enthusiasm is high in the Senior squad in anticipation of the coming season. The first test of the interim Management will come at the end of March when Iorras take on Castlebar Celtic in the charity shield. David Reilly featured back in 2010 in the Super League team of the year and likewise Brendan Nallen featured in the Super league team of the year in 2011. Everyone is wished success.

POINTS SHARED IN FINAL GAME

The Iorras Aontaithe Master had to contend with a share of the points in their 2011/12 final league outing against Mulranny United in the Masters league on Wednesday night the 14th March, final score, Iorras 5 Mulranny 5. Erris were 3-2 up going in at the break with goals from Gareth O’Malley (2) and Harry Reilly (1), and with Pat Murphy scoring two more goals in the second half, it was a share of the points for all.  Well done to everyone for putting in a good league season, over all. The Masters Cup final is up next against Westport United on Saturday evening the 24th March with a 7.30pm kick-off. If you’ve got some time on your hands, then jump in your car and get to the Mile Bush Astro and give the lads some well deserved support.

OFF TO A FLYER

The Iorras Aontaithe U17 side and their new Manager, Michael S.Togher got their 2012 league campaign off to a flyer away to Kiltimagh/Knock United on Saturday 10th March, final score, Iorras 9 Kiltimagh/ Knock 1. Erris were 4-0 up at the break thanks to goals from to Kyle O’Reilly (2) Gary Boylan (1) and Peter MacArthur (1). In the second half Erris continued their rout with further goals from Kyle O’Reilly (3). Gary Boylan (1). Ryan Ruddy (1). The Manager, Michael S. was very happy with his new project (a word frequently used at Chelsea) and was delighted with the team performance.  Well done everyone and good luck for the season.

NEW CLUB JERSEY LAUNCHED

Iorras Aontaithe/Erris United recently launched their all new jersey design for the coming season.

 

Iorras Aontaithe Youth Secretary, Eric O’Reilly receiving a set of Jerseys from Cathal Shevlin Managing Director of Shevlin Engineering with Company Engineer, Kieran Mahan and Company Health and Safety Officer, Dyane Regan.

The jerseys are under the O’Neils brand. The home/away Jersey is a once off design and replicas can be purchased from the Club Shop and individually printed. Six presentations were made recently from O’Donohue’s Bakery/Sláinte Health-shop U12. Pat Cowman of Belcross Enterprises U14. Martin McIntyre, Clann Lir Bar (B) Team. McNulty Coaches/Travel U16/17. Cathal Shevlin, Shevlin Engineering senior away/alternate strip and the Broadhaven Bay Hotel senior home strip. BUSINESS AS USUAL

While Barcelona and Mr Messi was giving the run- around to Bayer Leverkusen, the Iorras Masters were putting the disappointment of relinquishing their Masters league crown behind them by scoring eight goals in their win against Claremorris in the Masters league on Wednesday night the 8th March, final score Iorras 8 Claremorris 4. Erris were 5-2 up going in at the break with goals from Eric O’Reilly (2), Gareth O’Malley (2) and one from Pat Murphy. In the second half Erris slotted home three more from Kieran Lavelle, Gareth O’Malley (hat-trick) and Pat Murphy.

DAYS AND TIMES FOR YOU DIARY

Please take note of the following training times for all Youth members over this 2012 season and they are: At U8 on Friday from 4pm-5pm starting on March 30th. U11 on Friday from 5PM-6PM starting on March 30th. U13 on Tuesday from 5pm-6.15pm. U15 on Saturday at 12 noon. U17 on Thursday at 7.15pm.

U12/U14/U16 Leagues start in June. Players to train with U13/U15/U17 till season begins.
