Sean Davis “Fun Soccer Academy”
Once again the annual Sean Davis Fun Soccer Coaching academy turned out to be another successful venture. Close on 100 Children, both boys and girls aged between 5-15 years enjoyed the 4 days. Under the watchful eye of head coach, Sean Davis. The Children where put through their paces by qualified coaching staff , Pat Sharkey, David Ginley, Christy Curran and Jason Malhon. Speaking at the presentation and awards, Sean thanked all those who helped to make this summers academy a success. First of all the Parents and Children who attended the discipline and good manners as well as the soccer ability of the Children on the course. The Committee for the use of the excellent facilitiesat Iorras Aontaithe/Erris United for the work and commitment from Eric O’Reilly who without his help and organisation it would not be possible to run this event. The local press for their coverage of the course before and after the 4 days. Thanks to Mary and Micheal Togher who looked after Sean and his Coaching team while staying at their B&B in Tallagh Hill. Sean would also like to remind everyone that his “Fun Soccer Academy” is held twice a year in Belmullet so he looks forward to seeing everyone at Easter 2010.

IORRAS U18 BATTLE BACK TO SECURE POINT
Erris United U18 came from been 3-1 down at home to local ravels,Bangor Hib’s in the second game in the league to secure a point on Wednesday evening 29th. The Iorras goals came from James Lennon (1) and Eamon McAndrew (2) and assistant Manager, Mark Reilly was happy with the way the team preformed in the second half.

IORRAS (B) regret missed opportunities in Tuohy Cup final
Iorras Aontaithe (B) missed out on in the Tuohy Cup final in Milebush Park Castlebar this afternoon on a score of 2-1. Iorras went in front 2 minutes into the game when John Noel Flannery slotted home from close range but 4 minutes before half time Claremorris were back level. But 3 minutes into the second half a mix up in defence gifted Claremorris the lead. Iorras will regret the two missed opportunities they had in the first half when James Tighe and Garth O’Malley were one on one with the Keeper but failed to score. Congrats to Claremorris and better luck next time, Iorras.

IORRAS U18 DRAW AT HOME
Iorras Aontaithe/Erris United U18
side kicked off their new league season at home to Snugboro United this evening. It was 1 nil to Iorras at half time thanks to a 28th minute goal from Tom McAndrew. But the visitors levelled matters one minute into second half, but four minutes later James Conroy had Iorras back in front, but indecisive defending gifted the visitors a share of the points on 77 minutes. Over all it was a good showing by the Iorras young guns.

IORRAS SNATCH AWAY WIN
Iorras Aontaithe/Erris United continued their good form in the Super League with a 1-2 win away to Snugboro this afternoon with goals from Ivan Barrett and Garth O’Malley. There next outing is at home to Westport on next Saturday evening 25th with kick-off at 6.30pm.

IORRAS (B) CONTINUE STRONG LEAGUE FORM
Iorras (B) kept up the pressure on Premier League leaders Swinford with a comfortable 4-2 victory at home to Claremorris this evening. The half time score was 1-0 thanks to a John Noel Flannery goal on 29 minutes. In the second half there where further goals from Iorras on 57 minutes from Colm Stewart and a brilliant individual goal from 30 yards on 75 minutes from Steven Nallen. In injury time Iorras nicked a 4th goal to make it certain Colm Stewart grabbing his second. Claremorris scored twice in reply both in the second half. The first a penalty on 62 minutes and a second on 71 minutes. Final score Iorras (B) 4 – 2 Claremorris
Iorras and Claremorris will lock horns once more on the 26th in the Touhy Cup final in Castlebar.

MIXED FORTUNE FOR IORRAS IN LEAGUE OUTINGS
Iorras Aontaithe had mixed fortune in their league outings this weekend. Iorras Aontaithe were at home to Kilmore United in the Super League on Saturday evening 11th and secured the three points with the only goal of the game with a Brendan Nallan free kick on 40 minutes from the edge of the area. The game was devoid of pretty football and was played in a strong cross wind and heavy rain. Then on Sunday 12th Iorras Aontaithe (B) were away to Castlebar Celtic (B) in the Primer Division and were beaten 3-0.

IORRAS AONTAITHE (B) IN TUOHY CUP FINAL
Iorras Aontaithe (B) booked their place in the Tuohy Cup final in Milebush Park, Castlebar on Sunday 26th July against Claremorris away to Crossmolina on Thursday evening the 9th winning in extra time 3-0 after the game ended 3-3. Stephen Nallan, Harry Reilly and Colin Stewart scored for Iorras in the second half and in extra time Jimmy Tighe, Harry Reilly and Robert Carey, scoring his first goal for the club sence he joined from Bangor Hib’s. It is another cup final for Iorras (B) and Manager, Micheal S Togher. Final Score, Crossmolina 3 Iorras Aontaithe 6 after extra time. Well done to everyone and good luck in the final.
