MURRAY DELIGHT

Category: UncategorizedThomas @ 5:20 pm

Former Iorras Aontaithe youth player, Ronan Murray is continuing his fine scoring form at Swindon Town coming on in the 57th minute, in their league clash with Morecambe, to score Swindon’s third goal in their 3-nil win on Saturday. Ronan is enjoying his loan spell, much to the delight of his Manager, Paolo Di Canio

Swindon Town made the game safe on 77 minutes with a clinical finish from loanee Murray. A great break from the Irishman saw the ball eventually run free down the right and a cutback from Ritchie was met by Murray, who let the ball roll across his body before a low left-footed shot nestled into the bottom corner of the net.

MURRAY MAGIC

Category: UncategorizedThomas @ 12:16 am

Well done to former Iorras Youth, Ronan Murray on sending Swindon Town into the Southern area final of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy as Southend United lost 2-1 at Roots Hall. Ipswich Town loanee, Ronan Murray came on for Jake Jervis in the 80th minute and two minutes later, netted the winner to decide a match between League Two’s form sides.

Ronan Murray

Matt Ritchie’s corner from the right was put back into the box by Lander Gabilondo and Murray headed the ball into the top-right corner for his first goal for Paulo Di Canio’s side. The result denied Southend a club-record 18-game unbeaten record and stretched Swindon’s run to 13 matches without defeat. It followed a good few days for the Robins, who will tackle Barnet in the area final, after they knocked Southend’s Essex rivals Colchester out of the FA Cup on Saturday with a 1-0 win.

Commenting on Murray’s goal, Paulo Di Canio’s said

He arrived in the box at a good moment and did well. He attacked the space in the right way and got his reward with the goal. He came on and did well.

Everyone at Iorras Aontaithe is wishing Ronan every success in his career.

MURRAY IS ON THE MOVE

Category: UncategorizedThomas @ 3:19 pm

Swindon Town have signed Ipswich Town striker Ronan Murray on a loan deal until 14th January 2012. Murray came through the Academy at Portman Road and has progressed through to the first team squad but is yet to feature for Paul Jewell’s side this term.

He gained some valuable league experience last season in a loan spell with Torquay United and has been capped up to U19 level with the Republic of Ireland. The frontman came off the bench for Ipswich in the Carling Cup defeat at Chelsea in January last year and made a total of 20 appearances during the 2010/11 season. Murray has put pen to paper on his deal with Swindon and is expected to be eligible for Saturday’s League 2 clash with Aldershot Town at The County Ground. The club have received Football League clearance for the player, with FA clearance now remaining.

Ryan O'Donohue, one to watch.

Iorras Aontaithe Ryan O’ Donoghue recently attended the Irish u14, emerging talent training sessions, in Portlaoise and Ryan was only one of two footballers from Mayo to be asked to attend these sessions and it shows what superb progress Ryan has made over the last few seasons at under age. The committee and club members wish Ryan luck in future sessions and hopefully it wont be long before Ryan follows Ronan Murray into the green Ireland jersey.
