Iorras Aontaithe, hi Anthony the camera is this way.
Iorras Aontaithe certainly sparkled in the June sunshine at home to Snugboro United on Sunday the 9th with a very good performance and a score-line to match,
Erris United 6 Snogboro United 2. The visitors started brighter and they had Erris on the back-foot in the opening few minutes.
Gary Boylan scoring from the penalty spot
But 7 minutes into the game a mix up in the Snogboro defence gifted Iorras the lead with
Sean Gaughan sneaking in to score. But know sooner had Erris gone in-front, Sean McHale had Snogboro back level with close range header on 8 minutes. Snogboro continued to press with John Carty, Sean Curry, Joe McDonald bring the best out of
Scott Kilker who was making his senior debut appearance between the posts for Erris.
Mickey Sweeney scoring his second goal.
Iorras started to impose themselves on the game and on 23 minutes
Gary Boylan put Erris in-front again with a well taken penalty. Then on 23 minutes
Mickey Sweeney, making his full debut for Iorras, scored his first goal with a very good finish. But Snogboro were back level again on 38 minutes when Sean McHale scored his second goal. But then right form kick-off, Iorras were in-front again when
Gary Boylan caught the Snogboro defence napping with his excellent effort to leave it 4-2 at the break. In the second half Iorras continued their dominance with Mickey Sweeney scoring his second goal on 77 minutes, scoring with a nice chip over the head of Kevin Stenson, Snogboro Keeper.
Sean Gaughan slotting home his second effort.
Sean Gaughan scored his second goal on 84 minutes to round off a good afternoon for Erris in the Summer sunshine. This was a important three points for Iorras who are at the bottom end of the Super League table. It was also nice to see the return of Anthony Mills who has been out of football action since last year.
Harry Reilly, still got some class.
Meanwhile,
Iorras (B) continued their good league form away to
Ballyheane (B) with
1-0 win,
Harry Reilly the provider with a second half goal. So overall, a good day at the office for all concerned.
